PRINCESS BRIDE
This week I had the pleasure of working with Ang of Myrtle and Moss Photography. Her ethereal, whimsical eye creates beautiful images that capture the audience. In this post, I am not only highlighting our work, I am also providing some insight to the collaborative process.
Working at the bridal boutique that supplied the dress (Tres Chic Bridal) I got to have more creative control than usual. Most time models are the last piece of the puzzle in creating an editorial, after most styling decisions have been made. I luckily had a lot of say in my hair, makeup, and most importantly, the dress!
Choosing the dress was easy. It's stunning tulle ballgown skirt had me feeling like a princess the moment I put it on.
My favourite part about a collaborative photoshoot is how things seem to just work out. When you have a makeup artist, stylist, decorator, photographer, and model all on one project, it can easily result in wires crossed and muddled ideas. However, when the people on set are so much fun and easy-going, the results can be fantastic.
The next step for our little session is trying to get it submitted to a magazine. The best possible photos a model can have in her book are those from a published editorial. Regardless of if the magazine is small scale or a giant like Vogue, editorials catch the eyes of international scouts and prove how experienced a model is.
